COVID-19

Will the season start under "COVID-19 Red Alert"? Yes. We have been given the go ahead by North Harbour Rugby Union (NHRU) under advice from NZ Rugby Union & Sport NZ.

Does my child need to be vaccinated to play? At the NHRU Board meeting held on the 18th of October 2021 the NHRU passed a resolution for a vaccination policy to be implemented. NHRU has developed this policy in line with guidelines set out by the New Zealand Government, Sport New Zealand, College Sport and New Zealand Rugby (NZR). NHRU is working within the parameters and framework of the Traffic Light System / Covid-19 Protection Framework.

All participating players and team management over 12 years 3 months of age will be required to have been fully vaccinated in order to participate in the 2022 season. "Players" means all players (over the age of 12 years) participating in 15-aside rugby. "Team Management" means all coaches, managers and referees (over the age of 12 years) at all levels.

Vaccination for players aged between 5 and 11 is voluntary. However, in line with the Ministry of Health advice, North Harbour Rugby Union strongly recommends and encourages all players in this category to be vaccinated.

As a parent/ supporter, do I need to be vaccinated to access the Clubrooms for training, muster, weigh-in etc? Yes. You will need to provide your MVP (My Vaccine Pass) to gain access to the Clubrooms.
